Before you start
These examples use sample prices in dollars. Use your own currency and prices. Open a product's Product Options or the wizard's Price & choices step. Existing products use Save option draft, followed by the publication review.
Read the price label before entering an amount: Price with this choice is a total price; Extra per choice is an adjustment; Price each is the full price of one quantity-menu item.
Example 1: a six-cookie assortment for $18
- Set the product selling price to $18 for one box.
- Select Fill a box and name the group Cookie flavors.
- Add Chocolate Chip, Vanilla, and Double Chocolate. Set Extra per choice to $0 for each included flavor.
- Set the selection rule to Choose exactly 6.
- Turn on Allow more than one of each choice so customers can choose several cookies of the same flavor.
- In Try your choices, select three Chocolate Chip, two Vanilla, and one Double Chocolate.
Expected: six cookies in one box, $18 total. Five or seven cookies is incomplete or invalid. Six Chocolate Chip cookies is allowed when repeats are enabled. Two boxes with the same mix cost $36 and require twelve cookies.
Add a premium flavor
Change Double Chocolate to an extra $0.50 per choice. Four regular cookies plus two Double Chocolate cookies still fill one six-cookie box. The expected price is $18 + 2 × $0.50 = $19. Do not enter the full box price in an adjustment field.
Example 2: six-cookie and twelve-cookie sizes
- Enable Offer different sizes or pack quantities. Add Six Cookies at $18 and Twelve Cookies at $32.
- Keep the Cookie flavors group and its repeat setting.
- Open Different counts for each size. Set Six Cookies to exactly 6 and Twelve Cookies to exactly 12.
- Use Try a size or quantity in the preview and check both sizes.
Expected: the six-cookie size accepts six pieces and starts at $18. The twelve-cookie size accepts twelve pieces and starts at $32. With the $0.50 premium adjustment, eight regular plus four premium cookies cost $34 in the twelve-cookie size. Size names alone do not set these rules or recipe quantities.
Optional quantities in pairs
If a flavor must be chosen in pairs, open its choice settings and enable Set quantities for this choice. Set Minimum when selected to 2 and Choose in multiples of to 2. With repeats enabled, customers can choose zero, two, four, or six of that flavor, subject to the box total. A minimum applies only when that flavor is selected; it does not make every flavor required.
Example 3: optional gift wrapping
- On the fixed-box product, select Add extras. Name the group Gift wrapping.
- Add one Gift Wrap choice with an extra price of $2.
- Set Choose up to 1 and leave repeated selection off.
- Try a regular six-cookie box with and without wrapping.
Expected: $18 without wrapping, $20 with wrapping. The premium-flavor box from Example 1 costs $21 with wrapping. Two identically wrapped regular boxes cost $40: the extra applies once per box, not once per whole order.
Use a product form for a gift message. Use a checkout form when a question should be asked once for the entire cart.
Example 4: a menu of existing loaves
- Create individual catalog products with current prices: Classic Loaf $12, Cheddar Loaf $15, and Cranberry Loaf $15. Configure their questions, stock, and fulfillment.
- On the menu listing, select Use existing products and link those products or their saved sizes.
- Set the unit customers count to loaves. For this example, use Choose between 1 and 6 and allow repeats.
- Use Try your linked products to choose one Classic, two Cheddar, and one Cranberry.
Expected: four loaves for $12 + 2 × $15 + $15 = $57, before any linked-product extras, tax, or fulfillment charges. The menu adds no separate base-item charge. Each linked product keeps its current price, questions, stock, recipe, and fulfillment requirements.
A linked menu cannot have its own sizes or contain another quantity menu. The selected date must work for every chosen product. Quantity menus are for one-time orders. If these items do not already exist in the catalog, use Choose quantities and enter each item's full Price each instead.
Review before publishing
Try the lowest and highest allowed counts, a repeated choice, each size, and selections with and without extras. Save the draft, complete publication review, and check the actual storefront controls. Set stock in Planner and recipe quantities in Recipes & Costs separately; the example names and prices do not configure those settings.
