Digital products are a separate catalog
Digital products are not physical products with a file attached. Open Products > Digital to review them, use Create digital product to start, and edit an item at /dashboard/products/digital/:id.
Digital product files are stored securely in R2. Buyers receive delivery emails and secure download links after a qualifying purchase. Digital products can include recipes, templates, guides, eBooks, or other downloadable content.
Set up the delivery flow
- Create the digital product with its title, price, type, and storefront copy.
- Upload files to the digital product rather than relying on a public, guessable URL.
- Configure the initial delivery email and confirm the product’s status before publishing.
- Test a free or controlled purchase and verify that the confirmation page and download link work.
What customers see
Customers use a digital product page at /digital/:slug, complete checkout, then reach a confirmation page with secure download links. Digital subscriptions can deliver later sequence emails, but standalone delayed drip scheduling is not a separate workflow.
Common problems
- Uploading to the physical product editor: use the Digital Products route; the two catalog types have different fulfillment flows.
- Manual payment is pending: confirm the purchase from Digital orders before delivery is released.
- A file link was shared publicly: use the secure download flow rather than putting an R2 object URL in the article or storefront.
