Use Label Studio to connect reusable designs to your products and prepare the wording and quantities for each label.
Plan availability: Pro. Set up product labels on a desktop in Manage → Labels → Product labels.
Connect a product to a design
- Choose Set up a product label.
- Select the product and the design you want to print. Use a name that identifies the product and purpose of the label.
- Open Sizes, flavors & label counts when the label should apply to a particular size or flavor, or when you need more than one label per purchased package.
- Review the ingredient and allergen wording shown for the product. Save after completing the review and any required details.
Choose package or piece quantities
One per purchased package is suitable for a box, bag, jar, or loaf sold as one item. Piece labels are useful when the contents of a mixed box need their own labels. Configure the relevant flavor choices and copies for each assignment.
For example, two boxes containing three chocolate and three vanilla pieces each can produce 2 box labels, 6 chocolate labels, and 6 vanilla labels. The package count remains two. Review the quantity preview before generating.
Use size- and flavor-specific assignments when the wording or design differs. A matching size-and-flavor assignment is more specific than a flavor-only, size-only, or general product assignment. Avoid overlapping assignments that describe the same purpose.
Review ingredients and allergens
Automatic label wording uses the product’s published ingredient declaration and current allergen information. If a product has no reviewed or complete wording, correct its source information before printing.
You can enter separately reviewed replacement wording for a product label. These replacements affect that label and do not rewrite the storefront declaration. Check I reviewed this wording against the current product and recipe only after reviewing it.
Recipe, ingredient, size, or choice changes can require a new review. Do not treat a blank allergen value as an allergen-free claim. Review the final wording and any required acknowledgments each time the application flags a change.
Dates and saved details
Use the best-before and saved-details section for values that belong to this product label. A best-before offset must be explicitly saved; a product shelf-life reference does not silently choose it for you. The made-on date is supplied when printing and is not assumed from the pickup date.
Custom fields can have business, product-label, or each-print scope. Define them in Label paper, add them to the design, and supply the appropriate defaults. Only details placed in the design print.
If an order does not match
Check the product, size, and flavor assignment. When captured order details are missing or inconsistent, correct the assignment or use an explicit manual quantity. Label counts follow purchased packages and captured piece quantities, not rounded recipe batches.
