Open Gift Cards
Open Gift Cards to create fixed-denomination gift-card products, issue cards, grant store credit, view ledgers, resend codes, void cards, and review adjustments.
What customers see
Gift-card-only carts skip physical fulfillment selection. Mixed carts still validate pickup, delivery, or shipping for physical products.
Stored-value rules
- Only one stored-value tender is supported per checkout.
- Store credit requires an authenticated customer; a typed checkout email is not identity proof.
- Stored value reduces the payment amount due now, including a deposit, but does not change subtotal, tax, discounts, or remaining balance.
- Subscription checkout rejects gift cards and store credit.
Common problems
- Gift-card products are excluded from Quick Sale.
- Gift-card lines cannot use coupons, loyalty points, gift cards, or store credit.
- Hosted Square checkout links do not support stored-value tender.
- Full card codes should only appear at issuance/resend time; use suffixes in support notes.
