Protect access before you troubleshoot
Open Dashboard > Settings > Account. Account security is especially important before changing staff, contractors, domains, or billing. Use a unique password and remove sessions or passkeys that no longer belong to the team.
Plan availability: Profile settings, password changes, sessions, passkeys, and account export are account controls rather than a storefront plan upgrade. Free, Pro, Scale, and eligible Legacy Lifetime accounts should protect the same owner identity. Feature access still follows the active matrix.
Review the account sections
- Check Profile Information for owner name and email.
- Review Text Preferences and opt-in state before assuming SMS notifications are available.
- Use Change Password with the current password and a unique new password.
- Review Passkeys and rename or delete credentials so every entry has an identifiable owner.
- Review Active Sessions and revoke sessions after a device or staff change.
- Use Account Data Download before a destructive account action or major migration.
What customers see
Customers do not see your dashboard security controls. They do see the business identity and contact details connected to the account, so keep the owner profile and public Business Settings intentionally separate.
Common problems
- A former team member still has access. Revoke active sessions and remove their passkey; then rotate the password.
- The verification email goes to the wrong person. Update the profile email and confirm access before changing billing or domain settings.
- SMS preferences look enabled but no messages arrive. Check the active SMS feature and prepaid/plan allowance separately from the account phone preference.
- Export is incomplete for a feature. Export before downgrading or deleting and retain the resulting files securely.
