The bar at the bottom of the dashboard
A thin bar runs along the bottom of every dashboard page. On the left are Page guide, Help & support (shortened to Help on phones), and What's new; on the right is Ask Copilot. The bar stays in place while you scroll, and on a phone the page's floating action sits just above it.
Page guide
Page guide explains the page you are on: what it is for, the order to work in, and the terms it uses. Pages without a guide do not show the button. Read it before changing a setting you have not used before; it is shorter than an article and specific to that page.
Help & support
Open Help & support from the bottom bar. The page gathers every way to get help.
Knowledge base. On a desktop the knowledge base is embedded on the page. On a phone, choose Open the knowledge base to read it in a new tab.
Call the guidance line. An automated voice assistant (voice only, no texting) for talking through a workflow or how a feature works. It knows the product documentation and can look up or file a ticket for you, but it cannot see your account or orders.
Email. Write to support@cottagecms.com. Replies come from a person, usually within one business day.
Community on Discord and the Facebook community: other bakers, feature previews, and the team in the open.
Submit a ticket. Choose a topic (Account & billing, Orders & payments, Website & storefront, Cottage food advice, or Something else), write a subject and a message, and choose Send ticket. The ticket reaches support with your shop and sign-in attached, so you do not have to explain who you are, and you receive an acknowledgement by email.
What's new
What's new opens the list of recent product updates. A count on the button shows how many you have not read yet. Use its search to find an update about a feature, and open an item for its details and screenshots.
Ask Copilot
Ask Copilot opens the dashboard assistant, which answers how-to questions about your shop and drafts changes for your approval. See Ask Copilot and choose where it sits.
Which channel to use
How does this page work? Page guide first, then the knowledge base.
How do I do a task that spans several pages? Ask Copilot, or search the knowledge base.
Something is wrong with my account, an order, or a payment. Submit a ticket or email support so a person can look at the record with you.
I want to compare notes with other bakers. Discord or the Facebook group.
Common problems
The ticket form says email delivery is not configured. Email support@cottagecms.com directly with the same details.
I cannot see the knowledge base on the Help page. On a phone it is a button rather than an embedded page; choose Open the knowledge base.
What's new is missing from the bar. The button appears when product updates are available to your account.
