Import a recipe and create a product draft

Import the recipe

Open Import recipe from Recipes & Costs. Supply a recipe URL or paste the recipe text, then open the review. Treat extraction as a starting point that needs your confirmation.

Review the batch and ingredients

1. Check the recipe name, Makes, and what it makes. Supply a clear output when the source yield is missing or uncertain.

2. Review each source line and confirm or replace suggested ingredient matches.

3. Correct quantities marked for review. Amount fields accept decimals and familiar fractions such as 1/3 or 1 1/2.

4. Use Add missing ingredient when needed. Review its package price and measurements before saving; the recipe draft stays in place.

5. When a line includes an equivalent weight, explicitly choose that weight for the recipe or review and save it as an ingredient measurement.

Matching an ingredient does not confirm an uncertain quantity or a missing conversion. Do not treat a package size as the total equivalent weight of the recipe amount.

Review the yield, ingredient matches, and equivalent weights before saving.

Save the recipe only

Select Save recipe, then choose to save a draft or mark it ready. Unarchived drafts can be selected for products; readiness does not resolve ingredient or cost warnings. Keep reviewing unresolved lines before relying on complete costing.

Create a storefront product draft

1. Under Create a storefront product from this recipe, set One product uses.

2. For a recipe making twelve cupcakes, enter six when one sellable product is a six-cupcake pack.

3. Select Save recipe & create product draft.

4. Finish the new product's price, photos, choices, and availability in the product editor.

5. Review its ingredient declaration and publish it separately when ready.

The action saves the reusable recipe and attaches it to an unpublished product. It does not publish the product, its ingredient declaration, or an automatic selling price.

Recover an incomplete result

If the recipe saves but product creation reports a problem, follow the displayed recovery action. Check the saved recipe and any existing draft before creating another product. Unresolved ingredients can remain in a draft while still preventing complete costs and price suggestions.
