Import an existing customer subscription

Plan availability: Scale. Customer Subscriptions require Scale in the active production matrix. The active production feature matrix is authoritative if an administrator changes an entitlement.

Start the import

1. Open Import subscription.
2. Select an existing customer or match/create one by email or phone.
3. Select the physical product and variant.
4. Capture known standing product-form answers.
5. Select cadence, fulfillment, quantity, and the next billing date.
6. Submit the import and send the authorization link.

What the customer sees

The authorization page shows the imported item, cadence, fulfillment, quantity, discount, next dates, and standing selections. The customer saves a Square card without being charged immediately.

Common problems

• Imported subscriptions begin as incomplete until card authorization succeeds.
• Unknown form answers can remain blank and should be confirmed before the first renewal.
• Variant products need a stable variant mapping.
• The seller-selected next billing date controls the first renewal.
