Use the upgrade prompt in context
When a dashboard control is locked, use its upgrade action instead of navigating through several unrelated screens. Feature gates preserve the feature context in the checkout URL, such as the requested feature and recommended plan.
Plan availability: The active matrix currently places domains, blank pages, blog posts, media, advanced Analytics, Google Search & Business, QR codes, and trackable links on Pro; Custom CSS and domain-branded email are Scale; theme customization is Free. Legacy Lifetime bypasses feature restrictions. The matrix can change, so the active gate is authoritative.
Complete the upgrade path
- Open the feature’s dashboard route and read the painted-door explanation, such as Upgrade to unlock detailed visitor and sales insights.
- Choose the recommended plan and billing interval in checkout.
- Complete Stripe Checkout, then return to Billing or the feature route.
- Wait for the subscription status and feature entitlement to update before retrying the action.
- For domain flows, use the return parameters to resume a domain search or own-domain setup instead of starting over.
What customers see
Paid access affects what is public and what customers can use, but the upgrade itself is an owner-facing action. After activation, open the live storefront or public content route to confirm the intended result.
Common problems
- The feature is still locked after payment. Check Billing for an active subscription, refresh the feature route, and allow entitlement propagation to finish.
- The wrong plan is offered. The active matrix and checkout enablement determine the recommendation; do not rely on an old screenshot.
- Domain setup did not resume. Return to Website Address and use the resume prompt or search again after the paid status is active.
- A paid feature stops during past_due. Payment recovery can preserve only the documented custom-domain grace path; unrelated paid gates remain closed.
