Cosa Dolce

Cottage CMS has all the capabilities I needed to get things shipping, and many capabilities I haven’t even tried yet that I know can simplify things for me.

The Story

Cosa Dolce is Rosalia Mira’s New York biscotti business, offering roughly two dozen classic and creative flavors through local vendor events and online sales within the state. Rosalia began refining three varieties after family encouragement, then built the business with her husband’s support after a 14-year remote role ended. She wanted something of her own that could create more flexible family time while supplementing income and giving her room to keep learning as an entrepreneur.

The Challenge

From the start, Cosa Dolce needed an online setup that could support shipping as well as local vendor sales. Summer heat and humidity made protecting shelf-stable biscotti especially important, so Rosalia worked through trial and error with food-safe desiccant to help manage moisture in shipped packages. She also needed an online storefront that could keep new flavor ideas, gift orders, customer communication, and packing organized without introducing another complicated system.

The Turning Point

When Rosalia began looking for a shipping-capable platform, Cottage CMS came highly recommended in local home-processor groups. It was the first platform she used for Cosa Dolce, and she says it became a key decision in getting the business off the ground.

The Results

For Rosalia, the most meaningful part of the business is building something of her own and hearing from the people who try it. One customer found Cosa Dolce at a vendor event, then later wrote through social media to say Rosalia’s biscotti were the best she had ever tasted and that she expected to place online orders in the future.

The most meaningful feedback I have received was from a customer who found me at a vendor event. They messaged me on my social media page and said mine were the best biscotti she has ever tasted.

Features That Made the Difference

Product setup and Square catalog sync

Duplicating an existing biscotti item and making small flavor adjustments makes it easier to add new varieties. New products can also sync with Cosa Dolce’s connected Square catalog, helping keep its POS catalog current for vendor events.

Gift-order forms

Prepared forms let customers send biscotti to a different recipient and choose an optional premium gift-style packaging upgrade.

Order notifications

Prompt order notifications help Rosalia decide whether to schedule baking or fulfill from inventory.

Packing slips

Packing slips act as a final checklist before an order goes out.

In Their Own Words

I’m definitely getting my money’s worth.
